Fishing Trip Frequently Asked Questions

C4 has over 25 years fishing experience.  We are passionate about fishing and making sure everyone has the best possible outing.  While we cannot guarantee the number of fish you'll catch, we guarantee 100% effort in finding and staying on the fish, and will adapt to the circumstances. 

Captain Mike is a USCG licensed captain--holding USCG credentials is a federal requirement on the Chain O'Lakes. Fully licensed at the state and federal level; insured.

We run a 2024 Skeeter ZXR20 and can accommodate up to 3 guest. However, I do partner with other USCG captains for larger group outings. Reach out to me with your requirements and for further information.

A local half-day trip (4 hours dock to dock) $325 for 2 guests; 3rd guest will be an additional $50.

A local full-day trip (8 hours dock to dock) $425 for 2 guests; 3rd guest will be an additional $75.

Lake Michigan casting trips will vary based on travel distance. Full-day trips only with base rate of $400. 2 guests only.

A non-refundable $100 deposit is required to save your date; deposit is applied to your balance. 

We have a 72-hour cancellation policy. For trips cancelled 72 hours or more before departure, the deposit will be applied to a one-time reschedule. 72 hours or less results in a full forfeiture of your deposit. 

Trips cancelled by C4 due to unforeseen circumstances or dangerous weather conditions will result in a reschedule; or at client's request, we will completely cancel the booking and fully refund the deposit. 

All balances are due day of trip. Forms of payment include cash, Venmo, Zelle.

Tips are not included in our fees and while appreciated, just as in all other service industries, they're at the client's discretion .

C4 is fully insured.

All rods, reels, tackle, bait, and safety devices are provided. You are welcome to bring and use your own gear as long as it is relevant to the day's trip and in good working order. If you plan to keep your catch, bring a cooler and ice. Pack your own food and beverages. Be prepared for the weather with proper attire i.e. sunglasses, hat, sunblock, rain/cold weather gear (we do not stop fishing due to rain or cold).

Hard liquor and/or drugs are not permitted onboard.

Once you book your trip, C4 will reach out to finalize many details such as date, time and location; assess your expectations and comfort level with fishing, etc. 

Day of, we will meet at the designated launch and time; the boat will already be in the water and awaiting your arrival. Once guests are settled, we will have a quick safety briefing, then head out for a great day of fishing.

Each and every time out on the water is unique. I am well acquainted with local fishing and will do everything in my power to provide a fun day of catching fish. Obviously, weather, time of year, and many other factors dictate if the fish are going to cooperate on any give day!

My boat is equipped with a Yamaha SHO outboard, Ultrex trolling motor, 3 Hummingbird helix units with 360, Garmin Live scope, and 8' Power Pole blade anchors. The boat is fully rigged with the latest technology to maximize every minute on the water.
